undefined

Rev. Nate Hill has served as pastor of Saint Michael's Lutheran Church since June of 2012.

Pastor Nate grew up in Rockwall, a suburb in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.  While in high school, he was encouraged by the DCE of his home congregation to attend a Lutheran leadership conference.  At that conference, he began to prayerfully consider a career in the pastoral ministry.  The Lord placed in his heart a desire to serve the church in this way.  In 2004, Pastor enrolled in the pre-seminary program at Concordia University Texas.  He received a B.A. in Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Biblical Languages in the spring of 2008.

During his time at Concordia, Pastor met his wife, Candice. Candice double-majored while at Concordia with a B.A. in both Behavioral Sciences and DCE Studies. Pastor and Candice were married in 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg, Texas after Candice had completed her DCE internship at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is currently employed as a higher education consultant.

Pastor and Candice have two sons, John Barrett "Jack" Hill, who was born in 2015 and Carter James Hill who was born in 2017.

Pastor received his Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis, Missouri in May of 2012 shortly before he began serving at Saint Michael's.

In addition to serving as pastor of Saint Michael's, within the local community Pastor Nate also serves as a chaplain and firefighter with the Winchester Area Volunteer Fire Department.

He currently serves as the Circuit Visitor for Circuit 23 of the Texas District of the LCMS, is a member of the Texas District Theological Convocation Planning Committee, and is a regular guest on Sharper Iron, a Bible Study hosted by Rev. Timothy Appel on KFUO.  Additionally, he is the Pastoral Counselor for the Post Oak Zone of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) and has been involved in the establishment of Epiphany Lutheran Church of Bastrop, a mission congregation in a neighboring city. Pastor previously served as a member of the Concordia University Texas Board of Regents from 2016 until November of 2022.

Pastor Nate is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree through Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis, Missouri.

In his free time, Pastor Nate enjoys raising beef cattle, hunting, kayaking, fishing, and above all spending time with his family.
